When my wife Jana and her sisters were moving their Dad this past weekend, they were rummaging through all the old photos that were lying around. In many ways I was doing the same thing as I was going over some of my portraits today. I am including images that were done in art school. These paintings and drawings were done between 1978 and 1980. And thats me next to my first ever car. I think I'm about 19 in this photo.

These are super fun! I think all of the early training you did in your life shows in these portraits. They look like professional work, not student work.

ReplyDeleteAgreed- very cool pics. I had a yellow VW like that when I met my wife. And Randy Stonehill- can you believe he sang "happy birthday" to me on my 24th birthday at Ruby's restaurant in Seal Beach? Cool memory.
ReplyDeleteFrank, I love the airbrush illustrations. Takes me back. I was friends with Dave Willardson when I lived in CA. He was well known for his retro style on album covers.
