Setting up the Gallery

Okay... its been awhile but yesterday was my first ful day painting at the Gallery on Lincoln Way in Auburn. I can't say that I got too much work done as there is great foot traffic and curious shoppers walked in and hung out. I placed an ol cumphy chair next to my easel so that visiters could talk comfortably while I painted. So far... guests are taking the hint and staying awhile.

I see something amazing happening. Besides just painting , teaching and selling paintings, this Gallery could easily be a hangout for art types and art lovers. I am getting the vision to bring in book cases and have books in the Gallery to educate and inspire.  I need a sofa ... anyone discarding something in good condition?

I met a local pastor who walked in and stayed for awhile and he actually uses ART for his sermon illustrations. He wants to collaborate with me on some projects in the future. There is a mighty reason for all of this and I'm catching a vision that I could not have anticipated. I feel like Noah building something without clear knowledge of whats in store. A Gathering of Art Animals ....

Pics to come ... I've been so busy tearing down and moving .... just had enough time for my family ... and the drama of my Father in Law falling twice and visiting the hospital on 2 seperate occasions......

  1. It is amazing how the spirit works and moves. I sure like the concept of a comfortable place to hang out and talk art. Wishing you all the best on your collaborations.

  2. Frank, it sound like you are really enjoying the gallery and how it's shaping up. That's wonderful.

God tends to open up roads where we would least expect him to.

I've got a couple couches, but they're in UT.

  3. Thanks Frank! I'm praying for you. Sounds like your father-in-law could use a prayer too!
Happy to hear the gallery is a 'draw'!

  5. There you are! I was worried there might be more going on than the gallery. Your plans sound exciting; maybe there could be informal talks, demos, etc. I'd love to be a hanger outer some time. Actually I'd love to quit illustration and open a bistro or something next door. But I digress . . .

  6. I would be hanging out there every day if I wasn't eight hours from you. I am excited to see what happens with your gallery.

I hope Jana's father is doing better.

  7. This is exciting stuff, Frank.
Adventures in faith... step-at-a-time kind of stuff.. love it. I hope you are totally surprised by joy in what God does through it all.
Add a cappuccino machine along with that comfy chair, and I'm there.

  8. I think you should do something like what Dave Darrow is doing on Ustream. Have a constant video feed going out over the web of your daily projects. Set it up for a specific time every day. People could be watching you there, and we could be watching them watch you. You could have guest artists come in and demonstrate with you.
Great to hear you are excited about the prospects.
