So Much is Going On....

Hey Folks, I know its been awhile but my time at the Gallery has really swallowed up all my energy and time. I have SO MUCH TO SHARE about.......

1. What I have learned about people at the Gallery
2. How to re-negotiate a lease
3. How to attract customers
4. How to Kiss the Ring but not Kiss the Ass.....

Anyway, those are a few key points I plan to write about soon .... I uploaded a recent portrait commission. I hope you like it.

Oh .... and here is that Moses piece I did as an illustration. The mountains were much cooler but the client had me redo it several times before they felt Mt. Sinai was brown enough. Of course by having it cooler the warmth from the burning bush would have been more dramatic.... but the client is always right when they pay!

This is the sketch to give you an idea of how dramatic I initially saw this scene. Below is what they wanted in the end...

  3. A lot I have to learn if you decide to develop all those pointers, no that I could deal easy whit any of the stress I start to figure you have learned already in this new adventure. You commission, superb, I see the well done realistic portrait plus a lot of character of the sitter coming through; have a better day tomorrow my friend. “Hasta la vista!”

  5. Beautiful portrait Frank - and as for the painting of Moses - you were right in wanting to make the mountains more blue - it certainly would hav enhanced the effect of fire light but again you were right to do what the paying customer wanted too. What a conundrum!

  6. Frank, I always feel so fortunate to learn from your every post... maybe one of these days I can take a class or watch you paint in person.
