On hanging a show at William Jessup University

Hanging a show by committee was a bit of a challenge at first but after awhile we all got into a rythym and the hanging and nailing process started to flow. Beth Rolphes of BlueLine Gallery in Roseville and I were in charge of hanging the artwork and given that the space in the Library had good light and a spacious post modern feeling the paintings pretty much suggested where they wanted to be. Tom Fluharty's painting of a Bald Guy had to be close to the entrance to stare down the visitors into this now sacred space. His painting is like a spirit of the security guard. Most of the buildings on campus were designed by the famous archtect Frank Gehry. The later additions and modifications were made to flow with his original conception.

The opening reception will be held this Friday in the Library by the main entrance at 5:30. It will be catered!
