On Painting at Box R Ranch

Its hard to back into the swing of things after you spend 5 great days painting and talking art at the Box R Ranch in Ashland Ore. These are 2 portraits that I did the second day after bombing with 2 other painting attempts the first day. I will post more soon ....

ALERT Several of you have either emailed me or spoken to me that you are unable to comment on this Blog. For some reason my site has been down and quirky recently. The management is trying to get to the bottom of this. Thanks for your patience. ;v)

Update .... The teachers for next years conference will be Thomas Blackshear and Frank Ordaz ( me ) .

Very Serious Melanie

I painted this last year and I was given a copy.

  1. The paintings are always lovely, Frank, but the backgrounds are often so UNIQUE... love them!!!

  2. Hey Marian ... This conference really inspired me to make the backgrounds an important element in the total presentation of the painting ...

For some reason, about half the time I post a comment, it does not go through.

  4. Thanks for the alert, Frank! I thought that I was the only one that could not leave comments - my paranoia started to kick in (did I say something wrong? why doesn't he like me? Did I offend him in some way? etc.) LOL!

  5. I love the way Mel's turned out--that is so her. Quiet, but full of thoughts that no one would suspect!
Kierra informed me that you made faces at her while she was trying to model...You are forever uniquely, quirkishly, energetically Frank (and I look forward to your teaching next year).
