" Gilbert " passed away last Friday. I visited him at the convalescent hospital where he was recupperating from an operation. I had heard that he was not doing well and I wanted to see him but not without bringing along a portrait of his deceased wife that I had promised him. I brought along the oil portrait that I quickly finished on Wednesday but when I saw him last Thursday he could barely talk. Gone was the fire and energy that had been so characteristic of my dear ol friend who would stop by the Gallery to visit me and say hello. He would say ...
